Visitors are encouraged to enter their catches in the year-round Game Fishing Competition, sponsored by the Bermuda Department of Tourism. Just ask your charter boat captain or mate for entry forms. There is no required license or entry fee. And you might
take home an award!
General Rules
1. For competition purposes, the season will extend from January 1st to December 31st each year.
2. All competitions will be fished under International Game Fish Associations rules.
3. Where points are allocated, the Bermuda Game Fishing Association (BGFA) points system will be used.
4. All fish entered for competition - other than for Award of Merit - must have been weighed on a BGFA recognised scale.
5. Three signatures must be appended to the fully completed entry form to make the entry valid.
6. Twenty-seven species of fish are recognised for competition purposes. See the table below to find out what maximum line test may be used.
Note: Maximum line test does not apply for an entry for Award of Merit.
